Just a quick post and a request for information.

For a few months, drones have appeared in the nighttime skies in my area. I took out a telescope and noticed this lower flying drone has multi colored lights that change as it flies. I did a quick search and read they they are likely law enforcement or military. They are not the cheap looking things people use for aerial photography.

Question: What is the best night video equipment for filming such a thing? I’ve tried my Nikon camera, my phone, my phone through the lens of the telescope. I’m not getting good images. Note: I am also not a photographer.

The drone in this picture is the little light speck to the far left of the picture. You can also visibly see a plane’s aerosol spray trail (they fly all night long spraying crap). Additionally, there are other drones/satellites farther up in the sky, that I can see through the telescope, but they are beyond the capability of my equipment to capture.
